Colombo — Sen & Co joined an official Belgian–Luxembourg economic mission to Sri Lanka in June 2026, one of nineteen companies invited to open a new chapter in trade between the two regions.
The mission was organized by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Brussels together with the Belgolux–Sri Lanka Business Council, with the support of Port City Colombo, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and the Sri Lanka–BENELUX Business Council. The delegation drew executives and investors from across Belgian and Luxembourg industry — information technology, energy, manufacturing, financial services, food and beverage, trading and consultancy. Sen & Co travelled as the delegation's specialist in AI-native systems for government and regulated industries.
Two forums, one agenda
The programme was anchored by two forums. On 18 June, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and the Sri Lanka–BENELUX Business Council convened the BELGOLUX–Sri Lanka Business Forum at Hilton Colombo Residences. The following day, the delegation moved to the Port City Colombo Sales Gallery for the BELGOLUX–Sri Lanka Economic Forum, joined by government representatives, diplomats and institutional stakeholders, including officials of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and Wallonia's export and investment agency.
The message from the hosts was direct. Sri Lanka's Deputy Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development, Chaturanga Abeysinghe, urged the visiting companies to move early: the best opportunities, he argued, belong to those who arrive before the crowd.
Around the table
Between the forums sat the working core of the mission: curated one-to-one meetings that paired each visiting company with Sri Lankan counterparts, institutional visits, and a tour of Sri Lanka Expo 2026. For Sen & Co, those meetings were the reason to make the trip. The firm sat down with Sri Lankan enterprises and institutions to understand where governable, auditable AI systems could carry real weight — in trade, in finance, and in the machinery of government itself.

What comes next
The delegation flew home with follow-ups already scheduled. For Sen & Co, the mission confirmed a conviction the firm was founded on: proven European solutions — engineered, governed and delivered to European standards — have a place in fast-growing markets, and the way into those markets runs through relationships built face to face.
